Castelo Branco Centre for Contemporary Culture (CCCCB)*
The CCCCB, owned by the Municipal Council, promotes and showcases contemporary culture, encourages artistic creativity and educates new audiences for culture.
It is installed in a building designed by Catalan architect Josep Lluis Mateo, working alongside Portuguese architect Carlos Reis de Figueiredo, and located on Campo Mártires da Pátria (Devesa), in the meeting place of the centre of the city near other cultural venues such as Cineteatro Avenida and the Municipal Library.

Cargaleiro Museum*
 |
|
The Cargaleiro Museum is a municipal facility managed by the Castelo Branco Municipal Council. Its main aim is to showcase, study and preserve the items included in the Art Collection of the Manuel Cargaleiro Foundation. In carrying out these duties the museum promotes and organises temporary or long-term temporary exhibitions.
The Cargaleiro Museum is made up of two contiguous buildings – Solar dos Cavaleiros, an 18th century mansion and a modern building – and is located in the heart of the city’s historical district, near Praça de Camões, more commonly known as Praça Velha (The Old Square).
|
Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior Museum*
The museum was founded in 1910 by Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior (1883-1916), a man with a variety of interests in the science and art worlds and who became especially well known as an archaeologist.
The original nucleus of the Museum is based on the archaeological collection of Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior, and added to later with works of ancient art from the interior of the Paço Episcopal and successive additions of archaeological collections, ecclesiastical garments and embroidered bedspreads from the Vilhena collection. In the 1980s several contemporary works of art were added to the collection.

Paço Episcopal Gardens*
 |
|
The Paço Episcopal Gardens in Castelo Branco are one of the most original examples of the Baroque in Portugal. Particularly its collection of statues, symbolic aspects and its layout of themed walks.
This rectangular Baroque Garden is dominated by balconies and verandas with cast iron railings and stone balustrades.
It has five ponds with carved stonework edges and ornamental fountains. At the middle level of the Escadaria dos Reis (King’s Stairway) there are surprising water features.
